What is LaseMD Ultra?

It’s a 1927 nm non-ablative fractional thulium laser made by Cynosure Lutronic, now marketed as Ultra. It’s FDA-cleared to treat benign pigmented spots such as age spots, sun spots, and freckles, and actinic keratosis.

How does it work?

It treats tiny columns of skin, every other space, and leaves the skin between them intact. That targets unwanted pigment and prompts new tissue growth. An ablative laser removes the entire top layer of skin, so non-ablative (fractional) treatment means faster recovery and less trauma.

What does it feel like?

Mild to moderate discomfort is possible, depending on your settings. A numbing cream can be used.

How long does it take?

A session takes about 10–20 minutes, depending on the area.

Is there downtime?

Here’s what to expect:

• Skin typically heals in 5–7 days, when the dry feeling fades

How many sessions will I need?
