What is Single Process Color?
It’s one color applied in a single process, either all over or to your regrowth, to cover gray, deepen your shade, or bring back your natural color. If you’re thinking about dimension, see our hair color page for highlights and balayage.
What color do you use?
We use L’Oréal Professionnel color, including INOA. Single Process Color uses INOA, an ammonia-free, oil-based permanent color that’s formulated to cover gray.
How often should I color my gray?
Many guests come about every 6 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows and how much gray you have. Your stylist will suggest timing for your hair. Between visits, a gloss ($50) can refresh tone and shine. You can find gloss on our hair color page.
Do I need a patch test?
Hair dye can cause skin irritation or an allergic reaction, even if you’ve used it before. If it’s your first color with us and you have known allergies, we do a patch test the same day, on your jawline or behind your ear, and it takes about 5 minutes.
Are there risks with hair color?
- Hair dye can cause skin irritation or an allergic reaction, even if you’ve used it before.
- Tell us about any itching, burning, or swelling on your scalp right away.

How do I keep my color looking fresh?
- Use a color-safe shampoo and conditioner.
- Use a heat protectant before blow drying or flat ironing.
- Wash less often, and rinse with cooler water.
- Wear a hat or use a UV-protective product in strong sun.
