What’s the difference between waxing and threading?
Waxing pulls hair out with warm or cool wax and works on large areas. Threading rolls twisted cotton thread over the hair and is precise for areas like brows.
How long do results last?
Waxing results can last a few weeks or longer, and threading results 4–5 weeks.
Does it hurt?
Waxing can sting as the wax comes off, and skin may be red for a short while. Threading causes little irritation, so it’s an option for sensitive or acne-prone skin.
How should I prepare?
Before your appointment:
- Let hair grow to about 1/4–3/4 inch
- Stop retinol and retinoid creams 2–5 days before a face wax
- An over-the-counter pain reliever or cold pack 30 minutes before may help
Who shouldn’t wax?
Waxing isn’t recommended if you:
- Have sunburned or very sensitive skin
- Have taken isotretinoin in the last 6 months
- Use tretinoin (retinoic acid) on the area
- Are taking an antibiotic
What’s the aftercare?
After waxing:
- Cold packs for any soreness
- Skip hot baths and showers
- Wear loose clothing
- Use an oil-free moisturizer, and see a dermatologist if redness lasts more than 2 days
Can I add a brow or lash tint?
Yes. Brow tint is $30 and lash tint is $40.
Do you offer lash lifts or brow lamination?
Yes. Both are Yumi treatments, and tint is included:
